Maryam Golbarg, Esq., EA, LL.M, CTRS - Founder
Maryam Golbarg is a Tax Resolution Attorney and Enrolled Agent, authorized to represent taxpayers in all 50 U.S. states before the IRS and state tax authorities. With years of experience negotiating with federal and state taxing agencies, she brings a deep understanding of tax law and procedure to her clients’ cases.
Maryam has extensive expertise in resolving IRS and state collection matters, including Offers in Compromise, IRS Appeals, Penalty Abatements, Tax Liens, Release of Bank Levies and Wage Garnishments, Installment Agreements, audits, and payroll tax issues. She has also successfully assisted clients in filing petitions with the United States Tax Court.
Before founding the Law Offices of Maryam M. Golbarg, P.C., Maryam spent over seven years working with two major tax resolution firms and a law firm focused on tax controversy. Throughout her career, she has consistently applied her in-depth knowledge to develop practical, effective solutions for complex tax debt cases.
Maryam is known for her unwavering dedication to her clients and her commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes. Her practice is exclusively focused on tax resolution, and she has represented hundreds of individuals and businesses before the IRS and state taxing authorities.
Maryam graduated from the University of Tehran in 1999. After moving to the United States, she earned her LL.M. in Civil and International Human Rights Law from the University of Notre Dame Law School in 2005. She began her professional career in the human rights field before transitioning to tax law. Her enduring passion for justice continues to shape her approach to tax resolution, where she remains a strong advocate for her clients' rights.

Nikki Golbarg, EA - Tax Associate
Nikki Golbarg is an Enrolled Agent, authorized to represent taxpayers in all 50 U.S. states before the IRS and state tax authorities. Having worked at Golbarg Law since its inception, she officially earned her Enrolled Agent designation in the summer of 2024, allowing her to work directly with clients on tax resolution, compliance, and representation matters.
Before earning her EA credential, Nikki gained valuable financial experience at Westlake Securities, a boutique investment bank in Austin, where she worked for three years. In this role, she conducted in-depth financial analysis, developed investment strategies, and led other interns. Her experience in financial modeling and industry research has given her a strong analytical foundation that she now applies to her tax practice.
While at the University of Texas at Austin, Nikki was actively involved in the University Finance Association (UFA), UT’s oldest and largest finance organization She served as Vice President overseeing a board of 11 members and more than 200 active members, managing partnerships with corporate sponsors, recruiters, and industry professionals.
Originally from Chicago, Nikki earned her Bachelor’s degree from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin in 2024. She plans to attend law school at the University of Miami in the Fall of 2025 and pursue a focus on tax law, where she hopes to deepen her expertise in tax policy, audits, and dispute resolution.
Outside of the office, Nikki enjoys exploring new restaurants with her friends and is passionate about board and card games. She also actively engages with the Austin Persian community, always looking for opportunities to connect with others and further refine her Farsi language skills.

Olesya marusenko - Tax administrative assistant
Olesya Marusenko is a Tax Administrative Assistant at the Law Offices of Maryam M. Golbarg, P.C., where she brings a client-centered mindset and a deep commitment to tax resolution. Olesya is especially passionate about helping clients navigate and resolve their tax challenges. She understands that dealing with tax issues can be stressful and overwhelming, and she approaches each case with empathy and a genuine desire to help. By combining her strong communication skills with a detail-oriented mindset, she works to ensure clients feel heard, supported, and confident throughout the resolution process.
Olesya earned her Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from Toronto Metropolitan University. Her academic work provided her with a deep understanding of the criminal justice system, with coursework emphasizing law enforcement, crisis intervention, and social research. She conducted in-depth research and analysis on a range of criminology topics, sharpening her analytical thinking skills that now translate seamlessly into the detail-oriented and structured world of tax compliance and resolution.
With years of experience in customer service centered roles and helping others, Olesya takes pride in creating a supportive experience for every client. Olesya understands that clear communication and empathy are key to understanding the complex situations of clients, especially when it comes to tax issues.
Originally from Toronto, Canada, Olesya now resides in Austin, where she enjoys immersing herself in the city’s vibrant culture and beauty. She loves spending time outdoors, whether it’s going on long walks, discovering new parks and trails, or simply enjoying the warm Texas weather. In her downtime, she cherishes quiet moments at home with her rescue cat, Juniper, and is always on the lookout for new experiences that help her feel more connected to her community.
